Handwriting

We have very high presentation expectations. Children have discrete handwriting sessions in EYFS and KS1. All year groups have regular, short burst handwriting sessions as part of their English lessons. Children are expected to sit properly and hold their pen/pencil using a tri grip.

At Turnditch we use the Letter-join scheme which is a whole school handwriting scheme offering a combination of traditional and digital resources. These include classroom presentations, handwriting activities, online games and hundreds of worksheets using either a printed font, or a cursive font with or without a lead-in line. Our school subscription also includes free use for our children at home.
